Default Search Engine protection

Kalu

I keep getting a Default Search Engine Protection message every time I open
up the internet. It says an unknown application is trying to change my
default search engine. It asks me what I would like to do and I pick "keep my
current search engine" which it says is recommended but this does not solve
the problem. I have good security and have run many checks and have not found
anything that should not be in my system. It doesn't seem to have any
consequence on my programs but it is just annoying. Any one have any ideas?

Hi Kalu,

First I would take a look aht the plug-ins you have installed in IE.
Tools/Internet Options/Programs/ Manage Add-Ons
If you find somethin "suspicious" remove it!

Then remove any searching engine you have in the search tab, just in case.

If this is not working, reset IE, Tools/Internet Options/Advanced/Reset.
This will keep your personal data but it will leave a "clean" IE so it
should dissapear.

Also run some app. like Spybot should help.

Good luck!,
Luis.
