I have XP Pro on a standalone laptop computer with a wireless router
attached to a cable modem. I wanted to create to separate user accounts to
prevent unauthorized program additions by members of my family. I added the
two accounts (limited) but when those individuals log on, they cannot access
the internet using IE (Ver.6.0 SP1). When opening the program, the window
opens blank, but at the status bar at the bottom, it keeps flashing "bad
url. ......". It doesn't seem to be connecting to the default web page. I
know my cable modem internet connection is working properly because when I
log off the user accounts and logon using my default administrator profile,
the program works correctly. Simple file sharing is on. Why has the addition
of user accounts prevented the use of IE? I've tried everything I could
think of but am not proficient enough to solve this problem. Can anyone
suggest a solution? Thanks.
