Internet Explorer Freeze

Whenever I get on the internet (56k... yeah, i know, BARABERIC) and the IE
window pops up to go to my home page, it freezes. And for that matter, any
pop up freezes my comp, and I cant use windows update ether. PLZ HELP!!!

Not at all, lots of people still use Dial Up. Its cheap and great for
casual web surfing.

Any way about your problem, mate IE has more bugs then Mummy Returns, I
don't think theirs a person out their using it that it dosnt crash on.
I recommend you to get Mozilla or Firefox, they are effective and are
both a much better browser then IE. if you cant download them go get a
PC Mag with them on the CD.

Mozilla or Firefox = next to know Pop Ups and NO Crashes.

Check your computer for spyware, you can use Ad-Aware, Spybot Search &
Destroy, Webroot Spy Sweeper... there are countless others. I personnally
prefer Webroot Spy Sweeper, but that's just a personal preference. Also make
sure your anti-virus software is up to date and check for viruses. If you
don't have one AVG Anti-Virus has a free version that is real good,
available at www.grisoft.com
Other than that the only sugestion I have for ya is empty the temporary
internet files folder. You can do this from IE, click the Tools menu, then
Internet Options. In the middle of the window that comes up you'll find a
button labelled "Delete Files...", click it. That may take a while depending
on how much web surfing you do, and the last time you've deleted those
files.
