File Deleting Problem with Program Freeze

A new problem just popped up:
Every time I try to delete a file in "My Computer" or "Windows File
Explorer" the file will not delete and the program will freeze up. I have to
ctrl-alt-del to get out of the program. Also, if I go to the "recycle Bin" it
will not let me empty it. It also freezes up.

Have you tried running your antivirus ?

I use AVG Antivirus, ran it, everything OK. I went back 3 days on my "System
Restore" and that cured the problem. I had installed a fax modem and fax
software. I re-installed the modem driver, but used different fax software.
Now all is back to normal.
