The Internet Explorer 6.0 on my computer has been seriously
corrcupted; and I am at my wits end.
I think I accidentally opened a virus a while back...
It has caused my IE 6.0 to automatically change homepages,
and, upon launch, my IE immediately open approximately 50
pop up ads and then crashes. It is unusable.
I have tried to reinstall, but the virus/program will not
allow it. I have deleted all version of IE from my
computer, but re-appears on its own. I have managed to
locate the source of the virus: it's in the "Internet
Explorer" folder inside the "Program Files" file folder.
I cannot delete the "Internet Explorer" file. Inside of it
are a version of IE 6.0 that re-appears after it is deleted
and another folder called "Connection Wizard" which also
cannot be deleted.
The "root" file causing the problem appears to be a file
called "trialoc.dll." Once you delete "trialoc.dll," it
soon re-appears, preventing the delection of the
"Connection Wizard" folder and, ultimately, the "Internet
Explorer" folder.
Believe me, I've tried everything I can think of to get rid
of "trialoc.dll," "Connection Wizard," and the "Internet
Explorer" folder.
I have also tried editing the Registry. That also did not
work.
PLEASE HELP!!!
An email to (e-mail address removed) would be greatly
appreciated. Thank you!!!
