"Intellegent Explorer" Ad Ware

Helene

Hi Everyone,

I have some ad/spyware called Intellegent Explorer. I
cannot get rid of it. It hijacks my search engine to
their search page. I have run the following with no joy:
CWShredder, AdAware, SpyBot S&D, Spyhunter, WinPatrol,
McAfee Virus Scan (online subscription), SpyWare Blaster,
and HiJack This. I am running WinXP-Home, w/256mb of
ram, P4 2GHZ. I am very careful about what I open,
however I do have teenagers who use my pc now and then.
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Frank,

Thank for you reply. I'm sorry but I don't get it.
That's it? There is no solution? There is no fix?
There is actually a parasite out there that cannot be
fixed? Can you be immunized against it? According to
the site you listed: IEPlugin is a parasite I can't tell
you about, until I can get back to Germany and work out a
legal response to its manufacturers.

Sorry about that.

Yes, all the spyware software I downloaded and installed
and ran I updated. I know they should have removed the
parasite but they didn't. I'm still hoping for a
solution. Any thing useful would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Helene

Sorry.
Go to: http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm
Download "Hijack This!" [freeware]

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
button.
Click: "Save Log" (generates: "hijackthis.log")

Next, go to the below location:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/forums/

Sign in, go to the "Spyware and Hijackware Removal" section.
Press "New Topic", copy and paste hijackthis.log into your new message.
