integrating hotfix deployment????

I have 5 hotfixes that I am trying to put in my unattended install
(Service Pack 3 slipstreamed). My problem is that for no reason
(apparent to me) when setup is copying the files from my network
distribution folder it will stop and say that the file KBXXXXXX.exe
cannot be copied. So I have to skip these files. It is not a huge
deal to go back and install them after the fact , but since I have 3
hotfixes that will install I would like to get everything working
correctly. Any ideas or thoughts are appreciated, thanks in advance.

Thanks Jeff - I tried that method originally but kept getting blue
screens on startup (.dll) even though I made sure to follow those
directions carefully. So I went back to putting the hotfixes in a
folder and putting the installation instructions in the cmdlines.txt
file. The problem was that then setup would give me the errors. The
only thing I could think of waas that setup was past the 2 Gig limit
of the fat drive (since it is not ntfs partitioned until after setup
is run). Is there anything else you may be able to think of?? Thanks
again.

Hi Scott,

I don't think many people have tried the method outlined in the SP4
deploy guide. I hope to try it soon, but one thing I don't like is how I
can synch it with my other patch deployment?

It will be very annoying if I integrate post-SP4 patches 30-45, then two
days after I start the roll-out there's patches 46-92 come out. If
you're o/s roll-outs are not in synch with your other boxes (e.g. SUS,
PsExec, HFNetChk), it could get VERY messy. I once vowed to only ever
integrate SPs for roll-outs, but after the RPC exploits this is no
longer viable:(

I also only integrated the service packs, but I included MS03-026 and later
MS03-039 by running the exe in cmdlines.txt. This still leaves the OS
vulnerable for a short period of time, though.

I haven't tried the method outlined in the SP4 deployment guide. I will
give it a go, I think.
