Insufficient memory error when trying to start MSAccess

Hi everyone!,

I'm getting this "Insufficient Memory" error when I try to run MSAccess. I
know the hardware is no problem since this is installed in a workstation
that also runs CAD and 3D software. Windows XP Pro is installed and all the
updates applied.

Anyone have any ideas why would this error be happening?

Thanks a lot in advance!!!

Hi.
I

that also runs CAD and 3D software.

If you have 1 GB or more of RAM, then the hardware _is_ the problem. Jet
3.0 and 3.5 can't use memory addresses that cover that large a range, so it
tells you it's "Out of memory" when starting Access. You'll need to
uninstall some of that memory if you want to use your current version of
Access.

Well, there _is_ an alternative that would be far easier. Nah. It wouldn't
do you any good, because you told us that you already have all the updates
applied on your computer. Do you think perhaps your Windows administrator
may have been mistaken when he told you he installed all the updates?

And surely you don't have _that_ really, really old version of Access
installed on your computer without the Office updates, or you'd have
mentioned it. Wouldn't you? ;-)

HTH.

Is this Access 97? Have you installed the Office 97 patches, SR-1,
SR-2 and Jet 3.5 SP3?
