Installing Xp Errors

I'm trying to install XP Home Edition over 98 and getting
error messages - Unable to copy R:\1386\mfc42dll to
c:\windows\setup\mfc42dll and then unable to copy R:\1386
\migisol.exe to C:\windows\setup\migisol.exe

I then get a message saying unable to conmtinue
installation and an error message - sometime 425FF58h and
then EFFF58h.

Any ideas please?
