Upgrading from Windows 98 to XP-Pro

S

S.K.

Hello,

When I try upgrading my computer from Windows 98 to
Windows XP pro...i run into the following problem. I use
the upgrade option and when it starts to dynamically
install the OS, I get the following error messages

1. Unable to copy G:\ENGLISH\WINXP\PRO\I386\mfc42.dll to
C:\WINDOWS\setup\mfc42.dll

2. Unable to copy G:\ENGLISH\WINXP\PRO\I386\migsol.exe to
C:\WINDOWS\setup\migsol.exe

When I click OK to both of the above error messages, I
get the follwoing message.

Setup cannot continue. Contact Microsoft Technical
Support (Error: EFFF58h)

Any Suggestions on what I could do with out doing a clean
install to fix this problem.

Thanks
S.K.
