Installing Win95 Joystick Drivers on WinXP?

I have got an old creative 12-button digital gamepad which connects to
a gameport. When I install the drivers, it says that "Win95 joystick
drivers are absent" and refuses to install. Creative never released the
XP drivers. I can run the gamepad in analog mode as a 4-button gamepad
in XP but I want to use all the buttons. Can it be done?

I have Win XP Pro SP2. Plz help. I don't want to buy a new gamepad. Thx.
