Installing Drivers for a new printer running on XP Home

I tried to install a new Lexmark 2000 printer. When I loaded the CD and
clicked install it came back with the message: "The software you have
selected is not avialable in English. Please Select Below". I tried selecting
first English and then
Spanish in the open window but the install program would not run. Next I
went to the Lexmark site and downloaded the drivers for my printer. Download
was successful and I unzipped the file successfully. When I tried to run the
file I got the message: "Error 5 running
command.\Drivers\Win_XP2k\ENGLISH\Setup.exe"

I tested the CD by installing the printer on another PC using Windows XP
Home and it worked fine. Does anyone have any suggestions for repairing the
problem on
the PC I am having trouble with except pulling all the applications off an
reinstalling XP Home? This the only solution Lexmark has!
Thanks

If the Lexmark is using a USB connection DO NOT install the Printer
first. Go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and remove any Lexmark
Software. Also go to Start>Run type: regedit Navigate to
HKey_Local_Machine\Software Delete any Lexmark folder. Same for
HKey_Current_User\Software.
Then rt click on MyComputer>select Properties>Hardware>Device
Manager>USB Controllers. Rt click on each one and
choose Uninstall. Finally restart and let WinXP reinstall all and then
try reinstalling the Lexmark Software then Printer.
