How can I get Windows XP to recognize Serial ATA drives?????

The drives are recognized by te Bios and shows up in the set-up but when
trying to install xp pro message appears ..... Setup does not find any hard
drives installed in your computer.

What can I do????????/

Thanks in advance

Simply set the BIOS to boot to xp cd,press the F6 option, install the drivers
for the SATA controller from the floppy youre board mfg supplied,or download
them from intel to a MS-DOS formatted floppy to run in F6.Intel downloads,
chipset/chipset software, they clearly show the driver package you'll
need.....

Why would you want to download an Intel driver specifically, it could be any
number of suppliers?

Read the manual supplied with your mobo, or downoad / read on mobo site.
Different mobos have different requirements.
eg some require a jumper setting or bios setting
And then you may have to use the F6 option during the installation or repair
of win to install sata/raid drivers from floppy.
You should also check as to which version of sata (sata1 /sata2) your mobo
supports and thus whether you have the appropriate sata drive, or have set a
jumper on a sata2 drive to enable sata1 if thats what your mobo supports.

What if there is not a floppy drive available? Is there another way to
install the SATA drivers? Nothing in the manual mention this kind of setup.

You either buy a usb floppy - easiest method, and floppies still have their
uses down the line.
Or you have to create a win installation disk with the drivers slipstreamed
into this
There are instructions on various sites on how. Just google

A USB floppy drive? Really? I was not aware that a USB floppy drive would
work for. Perhaps this is dependent on the BIOS installed on the
motherboard.
