Infrared Communications problem/PalmVX/Code 43

I am having difficulty Hotsync'ing a Palm Vx via my IrDA
port on an HP Omnibook XE3. I was able to perform the
Infrared Hotsync with the very same laptop with the win200
OS. I am using Palm 4.1 desktop and Hotsync software. I am
using XP Professional Version 2002 SP1. I am using the
driver for a 'standard infrared port' mapped to COM3. I
receive an error in the Device Manager that states 'Windows
has stopped this device because it has reported problems.
(Code 43)' I have tried to step the communications speeds
down to no avail.

Palm support has sent me to microsoft stating this is a IR
driver issue.

Any help would be appreciated.

try to acquire the appropriate XP driver files for your palm and install
them into your laptop, after that, reinstall the hotsync software. hope this
helps.
