index.htm and index.html - home page

Why is fp creating a new index.html page when uploading?

my home page is shown as index.htm - this creates problems, can anyone help
me understand this? and eliminate the problem?

Because your web host has set the home page to index.html, not index.htm. You need to either rename
your page locally or contact your web host and ask them to make index.htm first in the list of
default documents for your web hosting account.
