Incorrect screen type

I have installed several games on Windows XP which were designed for Windows
98 and most of them work perfectly on XP. But a couple of them will not open
and pop up an error message saying "Incorrect screen type". There seems to be
no help files on the CD's to tell me what (if anything) I can do to correct
this.

I have set the compatibility properties to "run in win98/me mode" and have
tried changing the colours to 256 colours and the screen size to
640x480...but it didn't resolve the problem. Any suggestions?

Some Win9x games are never going to run on XP. They would need to be
rewritten, with probably new drivers for the video hardware.
