Importing from Sony MininDV

I have succesfully imported Video from my Sony DCR HC30 mini Dv to MM before.
It was some time ago now and I recall having a little trouble but got there
in the end. I tried again recently but for some reason I cannot do it. I get
a message "class not registered" after passing about the 3rd screen of the
importing video process. Is anyone able to spell out what I am doing wrong, I
really need it dumbed down as I am not comp literate at all really.
