Importing Folders and emails in folders

Ok, I'm familiar with import and export. But I've gone back and forth between
Outlook Express and Outlook.. I've established literally thousands of emails
that are maintained in folders. If I import into Outlook Express, it imports
all folders and emails in those folders without regard as to if a duplicate
email already existed. The only way I know how to clean this up would be to
manually delete the duplicates. Is there a way to (a) only import those that
don't already exist or (b) automatically delete the duplicates once an import
occurs?

As your Q is about import options in OE perhaps you might want to post to an
OE ng, usually part of IE ng
I'm intrigued as to why you are 'gone back and forth between' - theres a
purpose?
