Import OE rules into Outlook 2002

I have been using OE and have built a new machine. I have successfully
transferred all my mail from the one machine (using OE) to the other (using
Outlook). Is there any way to transfer the message rules as well?

In order to transfer Outlook Express data between machines, you would have
had to either thransfer it to Outlook on the old machine and then transfer
that or you would have had to transfer it to OE on the new machine and then
into Outlook from there.

On what ever machine has the data both in OE and OL, start OL and click
FIle>Import and Export>Import Internet Mail and Addresses. Select Outlook
Express, uncheck all but "Import Rules", and click Finish.

Thank you Brian, I will try that. Another, related question, if I may? It
would seem that my rules that I have already created in Outlook (that may
well be overwritten when I import more rules) don't seem to run all the time.
Do you have any idea why that would be? I can manually tell them to run and
they work, but they only seem to work on first launch of Outlook and not on
general refresh/checks for new mail.

Any thoughts on that?

Off the top of my head, I can't think of a specific reason, but if I were in
your shoes, I'd start over by starting Outlook with the /cleanrules command
line switch to totally erase all existing rules and then redefine them. You
can export the exiting rules first, if you want, and import them again
after, but if there's a problem with them, that problem could very well
reappear when the rules are imported.
