Migrate message rules from OE to Outlook 2007

Is there some workaround or third party utility that would migrate OE message
rules into Outlook 2007 ? TIA ...

Is there some way to migrate OE to Outlook 2003 on one machine, and then
upgrade that version of Outlook on that machine to 2007 in order to migrate
the message rules? One would think that there would be some migration path
for this since the migration is from a common Microsoft product to another
common Microsoft product.

Can't Microsoft build a utility to do this ?

In Outlook 2003, click File>Import and Export>Import Internet Mail and
Addresses. Select Outlook Express, uncheck "Import Mail" and "Import
Address Book" and leav "Import Rules" checked. FInish the wizard. Now, in
Outlook, Click Tools>Rules and Alerts and export the rules to an RWZ file.
Import that file into Outlook 2007.

If OE can export rules to Outlook, then yes, you can export to Outlook. If
Microsoft were going to build a utility, they would have long ago.

While they may not intend to build such a utility, my main point was that
they should have provided one.

I find it very odd that between Outlook 2003 and 2007 Microsoft removed the
ability to import Outlook Express rules.

They apparently did include one such utility in previous versions but
removed it from Outlook 2007 because it was buggy or incompatible with the
new rule structure (I think it changed the most with 2003 though) and
generated a lot of support calls. (They don't remove features without a
valid reason.)
