MESSAGE RULES IN OUTLOOK

Is there any way to use message rules in Outlook to select certain mesaages
not to be downloaded from the server ?

I'm think of moving from OE to Outlook as my mail program. I want to avoid
downloading messages addressed to other family members but cannot find the
same message rules as available in OE. For example, I have an e-mail address
"(e-mail address removed)". Other family members have addresses such as
"(e-mail address removed)" & "(e-mail address removed)".This is all the same
user name "surname.isp.co.uk".

When I receive mail in Outlook all messages with the account name
"surname.isp.co.uk" are downloaded. With OE I am able to filter this
successfully. I undestood Outlook was a better program so would have assumed
this facility would also be available.

Is anyone able to offer any assistance, please ?

No, Outlook does not apply rules until the message has been downloaded from the server.

I'm a bit surprised, but thanks.

Remove ABCD from Email address to reply

Why don't you just set up a rule upon receipt to delete the files you don't
want?
