I'm using Outlook 2003 with Exchange Server 2003 on SBS 2003 R2.
I keep items from the last 12 months in my mail store. After this I use
Outlook's Auto Archive to export the items to an Archive.pst file. This
works fine, but the Archive.pst file is now becoming very large and I'd like
to split it into smaller ones spanning shorter time frames. To do this I'd
expect to be able to simply export/import items with the required date
range, but Outlook appears to use the date in a 'Last edited' field rather
than the Sent or Received field.
The problem with this is that when I've upgraded Outlook (or maybe it's
some other event involving importing items from a PST file) the last Edited
filed has become changed to the time of the event. This may be the reason I
have some items still in folders with dates well outside the Auto Archive
settings?
Is there ways to work-around this problem?
Can Outlook be set to use the Sent/Received date of items for Archiving and
Import/Export?
