Images not showing

OS is XP PRO

Intermittent problem when browsing to webpages with images (.jpg, .gif, and
..jpeg).
Images dont show and there is no RED X placeholder - nor a right-clickable
area where the picture should be.

I rightclick where the picture should be, and only get the context menu
typical of the webpage itself.

Ive tried suggestions @ Microsoft Knowledge Base. The only one coming close
to my exact issue says to get the latest service pack (SP2) - which is done.

The interesting thing about this issue is it happens with other browsers
(Mozilla Firefox).

What do you think is happening or what should I do to troubleshoot further?

TIA

Turn off McAfee Privacy if present.

Thanks Frank
I just installed McAfee Privacy so you're probably on the money.
I'll try it out later today and let you know.

I been having the same problem for well over a week and its been driving me
crazy! I've been searching everywhere for an answer. I finally found this
site and I'm so glad I did! I turned off McAfee Privacy and images started to
appear on the sites! Thank you so much!! But, tell me, why is this happening?

Why is it happening? Because it's McAfee. I Don't allow anything from
McAfee or Norton on any of the machines I service.

I would guess, and it's only a guess, that they are blocking any content
from a different URL.
