Iexplorer drops after Pop-Ups

When I launch iexplorer, I will start getting a bunch of
Pop-Ups & iexplorer will shut down. I have reloaded XP and
it takes care of the problem for the first attempt of
opening iexplorer. I start getting the Pop-Ups & I back
with the same problem. I can run Netscape with no problems.
If I make Netscape my default browser, when I launch
iexplorer it doesn't detect that it is not the default
browser and will not prompt me to make it the default browser.

I had this problem with a client of mine. I ran some
programs like ad-ware and did a deap scan of the registry
and installed a firewall. She had DSL and their was spy
ware on the computer that caused the internet explored to
open pop ups after pop ups. After running ad-ware, deep
registry scan and setting up zone alarm everything worked
fine. The pop ups stopped. I also made sure her virus
patterens were up to date as well. Not sure if this will
help.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
