Iexplore has caused an error in Kernel32.dll

Just installed the most recent update for IE6 and now am
continually receiving the error message "Iexplore has
caused an error in Kernel32.dll" The Microsoft site
indicates that the fix is to download IE5.5?? I am
running WINDOWS ME Any help?
