IE7 Slow Navagating

IE7 loads quickly but takes a long time (20-30 secs) to load the home page
(MSN.com). Then, if I go to another web page, either typed in the address
bar or from a favorite or search, it takes a log time to load that after
finding the web site???

What antivirus app are you using. Using any active scanning anti-spyware
like PestPatrol?

I'm using AVG antivirus, McAfee Firewall, Presario Laptop with 1.07 Mhz
processor, i gig memory, 160 gig HD. I disabled my 2 spyware packages and
still slow. I tied disabling some of the Yahoo & Sun "add-ons" which helped
a little. IE7 much slower than IE6.

Did you try disabling ALL add-ons? Did you try disabling the firewall?

In the future, you might want to use Outlook Express, or another real
newsreader, instead of the Communities website. Better all around and you
can "Cross-post" a message -- post it to two or more groups at the same
time. Doing so means that any replies, no matter from what group, are seen
in all groups the post is in.

It's the IE7 phishing filter. It has to examine and test every link on every
page you load. It tests the link by submitting the link to the MS mother
ship for verification.

You can turn it off. I don't know how.
