IE6 problems with XP. freezing on links

Alot of people are having problems with IE6. Mine is that very often when I
click on hyper links or image thumbs the page just freezes right there when
I try to download. The whole browser becomes inactive. This is getting
really annoying as it happens all the time. Have to open new browser window
but if I go back to same page the links give the same problem. Only way to
view desired images or link is to drag or paste links into new browser
window(from a page that hasn't frozen)

Check your Java settings.
Tools/internet options/advanced/Microsoft VM
....only tick the JIT compiler box and leave the Java boxes un checked
(default)
