IE6 Page Down Using Scroll Bar Mystery

E

Eric

When I try to page down by using the scroll bar (clicking
in the space under the slider), I'm taken down two pages
rather than one. Same problem happens viewing messages in
Outlook Express, but use of the scroll bar works normally
with Office applications.

I know it's not a mechanical problem with my mouse--same
thing happens when I operate my PC remotely. Any ideas?

Thanks!

I had the same problem and fixed it by uninstalling MS Q824145. This MS
Security Update has a bug that causes the scrolling problem and it also
caused occasional page freezes with Windows ME on my computer. Since I
uninstalled it, the scrolling problem and freezes went away; however,
Windows Update keeps wanting to reinstall the update. I'll wait until the
next security patch fixes this problem.

Whenever that will be. I spent an hour on the phone with
1866pcsafety today, bounced all around the world, and
none of them understood I was only looking for two
answers.

1) Is MS aware of the bug (which they are)?
2) Will the be fixing it anytime soon (being that it has
already been six weeks)?

They couldn't answer either question.

Microsoft is aware of the problem.
I don't know when it will be fixed.

Given that Frank has stated that this is far, far, far down the list
of priorities, and that customers should be grateful for what they
get, I would say - NO
