IE6 and annoying ADs

Posted this on the MS internetexplorer.GENERAL and was told that group
is for IE7 and Vista. Hmmm.

Can someone help with this issue? I have a multi-boot system with
Win98se & XP2. Both have IE6 SP1. Lately I noticed when on eBay, if I
backspace or click the left arrow to return to previous page, in 98 it
always works and I see no AD urls in the popup bubble when the L-arrow
has mouse cursor over it. On XP I continually have AD urls there and
when BKSP or L-arrow is clicked, nothing happens! Then I click again,
the AD url disappears and the previous page appears. Can someone explain
why this happens? The HOST file used to block ADs Trojans etc is the
same on both PCs. I'm at a loss!

TIA
Vic

Hi Vic,

Other sofware products can also block ads. eg. Nortons Productivity control.
These features may dot be available in a version of the product that you
have installed for your OS version. Ads may also be fed by the server based
on your browser version or type or you locale (country-language) settings.

Regards.
