IE won't show pdf files,..

Hi, I have XPpro, SP1 and some updates installed. If I go to a site
that has pdf files it just shows a blank page with a tiny square icon
in the upper left hand corner of the screen. I've
installed/uninstalled/reinstalled several versions of Adobe Acrobat
and played with the options in both it and IE but no luck. The "show
picture" and most other options are grayed out if I try that route.
Any idea's? Thanks.

Check your internet options>security and set internet zone to default level, or
go to internet options>advanced>check "enable third-party browser extensions."
Ok your way out and try again.

It appears it was already set to enable 3rd party extensions. Thanks
anyway. If somebody figures this out please post your solution. nb.
