"IE search page URL change" setting does not stick

T

Tim Clark

before installing AS, while loged in as administrator, I
changed the default IE search page to google, according
to google's instructions (below). no problems while using
the admin account, but when the only other user on the
box logs in she everytime gets an alert "IE search page
URL change requires approval" comes up, and although I
click ALLOW and REMEMBER it always comes back up when the
user logs in again.

Any ideas?

Below are the registry changes, as per google:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Main]
"Use Search Asst"="no"
"Search Page"="http://www.google.com"
"Search Bar"="http://www.google.com/ie"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\SearchURL]
""="http://www.google.com/keyword/%s"
"provider"="gogl"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Search]
"SearchAssistant"="http://www.google.com/ie"

Tim,

We are working on the non-admin experience. Look for it to be better in a
future beta release.
