IE could not save the web page

I have just done a large update of the computer and all of a sudden most of
the web pages cannot be saved to disk for reference later.

I get the message:

The web page could not be saved to the selected location.

Please can someone tell me why this is happening, how can I fix it, and why
there is no reference to this message in the entire WindowsXP knowledge
base.

Go to start/run, and type: %TEMP%

Clear everything, and restart.
