Saving Complete web pages to the hard drive with pics etc....

Michael

Hello,

How do I save a complete web page to my hard drive? When I click on
Save as in IE I get Save as

1.) Web Page Complete
2.) Web Archive, Single File
3.) Web Page HTML only.

I don't really understand what the difference is between these three.
For example....when I choose "web page, complete" (What seems like the
obvious choice) and then I go and look in the destinationfolder, I
just see what "LOOKS LIKE" a link. Well....a LINK is not what I want.
I would think that it would create some kind of a folder etc with all
the parts in it. Is that what is happening behind the scenes somehow?
Are the other parts of the page stored elsewhere on my hard drive and
there is just a "link" to another part of my hard drive in the
destination folder I have chosen to save to?

I have been E-mailing complete pages to myself, but this is
cumbersome. I just want to click a button and KNOW that ALL of the
text, PICTURES and everything are saved. Which one of these is the
best option?

THANKS!

1.) Web Page Complete
Saves a copy of a webpage and creates a directory that stores all the images
and such. Depending on your computers settings you may or may not be able
to see the folder.

2.) Web Archive, Single File
Create an .mht file which contains the webpage and all of the images, etc in
a single file. This is the one your probably want.

3.) Web Page HTML only.
Saves only the webpage, images are downloaded off the website when the page
is opened.
