IE as default

Every time I try to download updates for my antivirus
program, it tries to connect to the internet trough AOL. I
already removed that account from my pc and now I'm not
able to download any updates. It does not open a
connection to the internet. Is there a way to make IE my
default broswer? I have DSL & I'm able to connect fine for
everything else using IE. Im currently using Mcaffe
antivirus. Would like to do it through IE as my default
browser. Any help is greatly appreciated.

In IE, Tools | Internet Options | Programs put a tick mark in Internet
Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser.

Don't know if this will help with the Mcafee update issue. You might
need to uninstall / reinstall it.

Hello Mike,

Totally uninstall AOL, even if you still use it for email you can get that
from their web site.
In Internet Explorer, Tools >Internet Options >Programs put a tick mark in
Internet
Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser.
