IE 6 SP 2 - address bar not functioning

My address bar is non-functional. I will input a URL and nothing happens,
the bottom of the left hand corner page indicates "done". If I try to use
the drop down box for the address bar, the hour glass appears and IE locks
up. I went into IE's tools, Internet Options, and settings under temporary
files, and there was one damaged file. I right-clicked it, told it to update
and that didn't seem to do anything.

I am unable to go to another website unless I use google. Please advise

Hi,
Do you have this registry key?
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{c90250f3-4d7d-4991-9b69-a5c5bc1c2ae6}
Reference: http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2005/12/16/504864.aspx
You should not have this key with IE6. An update for IE6 may have created
it. Installing/uninstalling IE7 Beta may have left the key behind.

If you find that key in your registry, Export it (just in case) Delete it.
Restart.

If you're not familiar with regedit, please post back or seek help.

Hope this helps,
Don
