Address Bar

A friend has IE-6 (I have IE-7 so am not sure how to help). He doesn't seem
to have the address bar space for typing in URLs. I right clicked on the
toolbar at the top (if that's what it is called) and there is a checkmark
for Address Bar, but no address bar. I did see the word Address WAY to the
right, but there didn't seem to be any thing (i.e. drop down menu) to do
with the word. How can he get the Address Bar back?

Most likely the Address Bar is sharing a line with other tool bars and does not have room to show.
There is a "handle" just in front of the word 'Address" that you should be able to grab with the
mouse and drag it up or down a line and then to the left. If you have trouble seeing it, uncheck
several of the other tool bars to make the address bar show.

If you see the smallest piece of the Address Bar (usually the name)
then stretch the Address bar back to a normal size and move it if
necessary. If the Button Bar or some other bar is to the right of it,
you may want to move that to a different position first.

Don't forget to ensure "Lock the Toolbars" is unchecked in
View-Toolbars.

A further fix:

"The Internet Explorer Address bar is missing"

You can get a .reg file that will do Method 2 here:
