IE 6 Address bar hangs when clicking on down arrow

I am running XP Pro and al of a sudden when I try to go
to previous visited site on my IE explorer I try to hit
the down arrow in the address bar and it take a while to
bring up the history. All I get for about 5min is an hour
glass. This never use to happen. I would lalways get the
drop down immediately. Any suggestions?
