IE 6 cannot access secure server https

Hi,
Something is different and my computer can no longer
access secure sites (https.) I have reset the internet
options, security, privacy, rebooted, installed patches,
for 3 days and still have the problem. I have windows xp
home edition. I can access web pages such as netflix.
But when i try to sign in it displays "the page cannot be
displayed." This is the same problem with ticketmaster if
i try to buy tickets. Once the site switches from http to
https it stops working. Can you provide some thoughts or
guidance?
Thanks,
Derek
