ICS Control from Win2k

S

Scott Rymer

I have two computers: a Desktop running WinXP Home and a Laptop running
Win2k Pro. The desktop box contains the internet connection which I am
sharing with the laptop over the LAN. There is a setting in XP to allow
network users to control the internet gateway from the local client
computers (ie. I would be able to disconnect the connection in my spare room
from my laptop in the livingroom) via an icon in the systray. How do I set
this up? I have seen it for XP and 98SE...but how do I do it for 2000Pro?

Thanks!

Hi Scott,

Thank you for posting!

Windows 2000 Professional doesn't have this feature in ICS. You only can
enable the on-demand dialing to let the connection dial automatically when
another computer on your home network attempts to use external resources.
For more information, please refer to the following article.

Hope this helps!
