i386

hello
trying to set up my pc so i can run sfc /scannow with out using
xp-cd.(because it tells me to put the cd in when it is already in) i copied
the i386 folder off my cd and put it in C:\i386 , well i found a i386 folder
at C:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386.
are these the same? in the regedit should the sourcepath be C:\ or C:\
windows\servicepackfiles? what about the .dll cache , will sfc /scannow find
it on my C:\ or do i need to change the regedit?

This is not a good plan. The purpose of sfc is to verify the integrity of
the
system files. If the HDD has corrupted files, why use it to verify
integrity.
The CD is _read only media_ The files do not corrupt.
