I/O error

My Dell 2.2g p4 with 512ram 128rage ultra system works very well and has no
errors or conflicts.... But I have a glitch!!

I have installed lots of software and games ( 3d pool, Diablo, Magic &
Mayhem ) but....

When I try to install Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Serious Sam, or a flight
simulator on Windows XP Pro, I get the following error message: "An I/O error
occurred while installing a file. This is normally caused by bad installation
media or a corrupt installation file". Here's what I've tried to fix this
problem:

1. Check the CD to see if it's scratched; not even a fingerprint or a speck
of dust.
2.Copy and Install it from hard drives; still the same error message.
3. Run Scandisk on all hard drives and reinstall; no errors on the drives,
and yet the same error message.Tried changing DMA.
4. Install it on the other computer in my home loaded with the same software
and it works perfectly!
5. Disabled virus scanners and any other loaded programs that may be
interfearing.
6. Updated all drivers for hardware
I have tried everything in my power to bypass this installation error. And
yet, it still haunts me. Please, how can I install these games and run it
without these problems.
