Right click on a blank area of the toolbar>select Toolbar.

The Contacts folder sometimes forgets how to show contacts, see if this
helps:

1. Open Windows Contacts
2. Right click anywhere in the right pane.
3. Select "Properties" at the bottom of the list
4. Click the "Customize" tab on the "Properties" page that opens.
5. Change the "Folder Type" to "Contacts".

The program name is Windows Mail (not Microsoft Mail). You can't
download it.

Right-click on the toolbar and select "Customize..."

Thanks to all. I figured out what was wrong. The tool bar was there all
along, but obscured. The one at the same level that says "show all messages"
was hogging the space. I went to the left of that portion of the toolbar,
clicked on the left border and dragged it to the right. Then the information
I needed was displayed.

1. It is called Windows Mail, NOT Microsoft Mail. Furthermore, you cannot
download Windows Mail, it comes with the system.
2. To get your Tool Bar back on :
View > Layout, and stop there. Look for " Tool Bar " and put a checkmark
next to it. ( NO need to click Customise ) > click OK.

Just to clarify some of the replies here... if you lose your toolbars - the
icons, on the top of Windows Mail...

Right click anywhere in that area and click on "customize" (The 'Toolbar'
option should already be checked, if not, check it, then go to customize).

When I lost mine and went to customize, the only thing that was listed were
the 'separators'. You'll have to go back and re-apply all the icons you want
to show on that toolbar, add separators, etc., move and/or remove what you
don't want.

Should be very easy. Don't know why they get lost in the first place, as
mine just disappeared one day - but it's an easy fix. Did have a problem
with two of the icons though - "undelete" and "not junk". I never knew those
were an option, so I added them to my toolbar, yet when I finished and closed
the customize option, both of them disappeared and left just a separator in
it's place. When I went to customize again they were grayed out, so I just
removed them. Now they don't show up in the available list of icons, so who
knows. It's windows, so I've come to expect problems!
