I get multiple copies of each email message

I'm receiving multiple copies of email messages each time I open Outlook and
every 5 minutes when it's programed to receive new messages. This is a new
problem (about 1 month) and I cannot figure out how to stop it. Please help!

I was about to post a similar question as I am experiencing same problem. I
use Outlook to access the web based bt.yahoo mail system. I therefore have 2
questions:

1. How do you stop these multiple downloads occuring?

2. Is there any software that can automatically clean up my folders so that
I only have one copy of each email?

It appears no-one has responded to your question yet, but if they do I too
would be interested to hear the solution

Aloha Cecilia,

Try setting your retrieval delay to 10 minutes and see if that helps. You
might also see if there is another way (webmail?) to log into your mailbox
and make sure you don't have a multiple or corrupted item in your mailbox
that you can delete.

I spent 3 hours on the phone on the same night I posted this question. The
first hour I spent with the Microsoft techs. who concluded that the problem
was with the ISP server. So, I spent 2 hours on the phone with the techs. at
AT&T. In the end, I asked them to clear my server (as recommended by the
Microsft tech) and after 2 hours they tryed it and it worked.

In the meantime, I downloaded the Service Pack 2 from Microsoft that came up
when I did a search using the question I posted here.

So, I havn't had this problem since then. Hope this helps.
