Hello I previously posted that I disabled upnp and sspd services in xp so
the tray icons would show at startup...

well to my astonishment one application (foldershare) is still using UPNP!!!
how can that be? see screenshot

I have the unpnp feature of my router enabled.. but I thought you must have
the
service turned on, on xp... am I wrong???

thanks

Programs can still use UPnP directly rather than through the XP API's. You
have to turn it off on the router to truly disable it.

Kerry Brown rambled on in microsoft.public.windowsxp.general:
Programs can still use UPnP directly rather than through the XP API's. You
have to turn it off on the router to truly disable it.

How is this done?
