After you verify your computer is connected to the Internet, McAfee
recommends that you resend those messages from your e-mail program.

1st thing to do is to remove McAfee completely from your machine and then test the account.McAfee causes many issues with Windows Mail.

Download and install one of the free antivirus programs like AVG or Avast.
Be sure to select the option NOT to install the email scanning module.

Use either the free versions of AVG (www.free.grisoft.com) or Avast
(www.avast.com) but disable the email scanning option.

I had problems with my aol account--I got a pop message error. AOLs outgoing
server is different than its incoming server and they ask you to choose
without any guidance. If you think this is your problem, go to your mail
account. Go to "Tools" scroll down to "accounts" Click on "mail" Click once
to highlight the tower icon that says "pop.aol.com" click the button that
says "properties" Click on the server tab. Change the outgoing mail to read
stmp.aol.com I hope this saves someone else the frustration I had. I was
lucky enough to know a serious computer geek.

? I don't see where the OP states he is using AOL.
We prefer that only specific custom advice be given out here.
