I can't play MIDI files!

Can anyone tell me why I can't play midi files on my
computer? I have been able to before, but now when I try
to play a MIDI file it runs silent!

Please, please help me!

If using Windows (any version) check your master sound menu to see
if you have 'mute' checked for either MIDI, Synth, or WAV.
