i have microsoft windows xp professional upgrade from windows 2000
professional. I have a duel boot machine that runs windows 98 and windows xp
professional. The computer is networked to another windows 98 machine i can
see the other computer in my network neighborhood and map to the other
computer. the windows 98 computer has the netbui protocol on it which is why
i can see it. since windows xp does not support netbui protocol is there a
protocol that can be istalled on windows xp to see a network running netbui ?
When i run windows xp i cannot see the othercomputer on the network and
cannot map to the other computer. what should i do to see the other network?

You can install NetBEUI on XP. It is hidden on the installation disk. See
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;301041&sd=tech . It
may also help to set up the user names and passwords of the W98 PC's as
users on the XP PC.
