I am having problems with <Windows Root> /system32/hal.dll.

Carlitoslx03

One day i turned on my computer and it said Windows couldn't start
because the following file was missing or corrupt. "<Windows Root> /
system32/hal.dll."

I have already burned the file on a CD and and tried to install it on
my computer but it doesnt work...

Someone told me that I needed to get the CD of Microsoft Windows XP
Home Edition again to do a system restore, but I can't find it and I
have no clue what the error might be..

Can someone help me with this? I would really appreciate it!

God bless you.
