Hyphen in text box causes ppt to crash

Hello

Every time use a hyphen in the middle of a sentence (not as a bullet) - it
causes the power point application to hang and requires "close task" via the
task manager.

Does anyone have a solution or know the cause of this phenomenon?

1. As you guessed, this is not normal for any version of PowerPoint, which
are you using?

2. Is it a text box, an activeX text box, or a placeholder? These are also
treated differently.

3. Are there any addins loaded?

4. Have you done a detect and repair on Office?

5. Is it all fonts or just one?

6. What is the local printer (not the network one)?
