How do I hyperlink an email address? I am brand new to hyperlinking and
honestly do not know anything about it.

What I what to do is -- have my email address just show my name and not my
whole email addess too. Could someone show me how to do this?

thank you.

Sorry, I don't understand the question. Please explain exactly what
you want to do, and why.

Where do you want this to be?

You do the following

As an example. Replace pat and your internet carriers name with whatever you use
(e-mail address removed)

In what context? If you're talking about getting your address to show
as a link in an email or newsgroup message, you don't have to
anything. Most email clients and newsreaders look for URLs or email
addresses and automatically make them clickable.

Ah...you want only the name to show and the address to be hidden. So
you'll have to make an HTML message (I don't know how to do that in
your client). The language for the link is:

<a href="mailto:[email protected]">My name</a>

I only want my name to slow on the emailed messages I sent out, not my name
and email address.

Well your email address has to be there somewhere otherwise your recipients
won't be able to reply....

Properly configure your email client and your name will be what shows.
It won't visibly include your email address

Is this the following that you want.

To answer me click on my name. And then the email client will open with your email
address already in place in it

You can do it so the address isn't readily visible, but you can't get
rid of it entirely. However you hide it, it will be very easy for the
recipient of the message to find it.

I think that all "Pat" wants is to do is change the appearance.

Unless we are dealing with someone who is a completely incompetent
spammer that is looking for tips.
